Two ways to get an engineering seat in Tamil Nadu
Most students apply to TNEA and to two or three universities, then pick the best seat they are offered.
- TNEA counselling: for government, government-aided and Anna University affiliated colleges. There is no entrance exam; the rank list is made from your 12th marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
- University admissions: deemed and private universities run their own applications, using their own entrance exam, JEE Main or 12th marks.
